New Shopping Gallery at Frankfurt Central Station
The city of Frankfurt am Main is continuing the large-scale modernisation of its main railway hub. From mid-2026, a new modern shopping arcade is set to open within Frankfurt Central Station, offering retail, dining and service facilities for both travellers and local residents.
The project includes the development of a contemporary pedestrian retail area featuring shops, food outlets and everyday services. The aim is to enhance the overall experience at the station and to transform it into a multifunctional urban space rather than just a transit point. The new shopping area will be integrated into the existing station layout and is expected to complement Frankfurt’s established retail infrastructure.
Frankfurt Central Station is one of the busiest transport hubs in Germany, handling hundreds of thousands of passengers every day. Expanding retail and service options at such a location is seen as a strategic move to meet passenger needs more efficiently while supporting the local economy and job creation.
