New Public Transport Strike in Frankfurt
A new warning strike affecting public transport in the German state of Hesse, including Frankfurt, is scheduled for Tuesday, February 24, 2026, and could lead to major service disruptions.
The trade union Verdi has called for work stoppages among employees of regional transport operators in several cities, such as Frankfurt am Main, Kassel, Wiesbaden, Gießen, and Marburg.
According to the union, the warning strikes will begin with the start of operations on Tuesday morning and are expected to continue into the night. The action is part of ongoing collective bargaining disputes, with disagreements primarily focused on planned changes to additional pay and working conditions.
