On September 20 and 21 (Saturday – Sunday), a favorite spot for many Berliners and visitors to the capital – Jules B-Part (part of the culinary innovation project B-Part, Luckenwalder Straße 6b, 10963 Berlin) in Gleisdreieck Park – will host Berlin’s first street food festival: “Street Food on Wheels”. Its full English title: Bites & Bikes Street Food Festival.
Jules B-Part is an experimental “workshop” of the well-known Urbane Mitte project. Covering 3,000 square meters, it includes an art gallery, coworking spaces, sports areas, a beer garden, and spacious halls for large events, many with a gastronomic focus.
Street food is a type of fast food: ready-to-eat meals and drinks sold in public places (festivals, fairs, markets, stations, stadiums, etc.) and at open-air events. Vendors use kiosks, carts, food trucks, or specially equipped trailers.
Street food varies greatly across countries and regions, shaped by historical and cultural traditions. Globally, around 3 billion people eat street food daily. Why? It’s convenient and affordable for everyone.
The Bites & Bikes Street Food Festival highlights the culture of cargo bikes. Visitors will see the latest models, high-capacity trailers, and innovative solutions for mobile food sales. The company Carla Cargo, known for its bike trailers, will demonstrate unusual uses. Cooking Roll will present new foldable tables.
The festival program includes vinyl music, entertainment, and live performances – among them, saxophonist Lasca Fox, who will play on Sunday (5:00 pm) from his bicycle trailer. World-renowned street artist Awer from Apulia, Italy, will showcase his spectacular works.
On Sunday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, children can enjoy a special kids’ hour with a concert by Krawuttke and Marisa.
All this will be combined with delicious creations from street food chefs from around the world.
Opening hours: 11:00 am – 10:00 pm
