The Grimmwelt Kassel museum hosts the exhibition “Ich, das Tier. Vom bösen Wolf bis Donald Duck – Tiere im Comic” from August 23, 2025, to April 12, 2026.
It explores the depiction of animals in comics, cartoons and illustrations from the 20th and 21st centuries.
Over 200 original artworks by artists from Germany, Belgium, France and the USA are on display — featuring Donald Duck, Garfield, and reimagined fairy-tale figures such as the Big Bad Wolf.
The exhibition highlights how representations of animals have shifted — from symbols of fear to icons of empathy and humor in pop culture.
Guided tours and creative workshops accompany the show.
The next public tour will take place on October 18 at 3:00 PM.
Grimmwelt Kassel is located at Weinbergstraße 21 and open Tuesday through Sunday, 10 AM to 6 PM.
