Dating back to 1393, the Frankfurt Christmas Market is one of Germany’s oldest and most loved. Wooden stalls, the scent of roasted nuts, mulled wine and festive music create an unforgettable atmosphere.
Visitors can browse handmade crafts, sample regional treats like Bethmännchen cookies and hot apple wine, or enjoy live choirs and concerts. The market’s centerpiece, a towering Christmas tree over 30 meters high, shines brightly on Römerberg.
There’s also a children’s area with creative workshops and a traditional carousel. In 2025, new features will include a sustainability section and expanded artisan stands.
Each year, millions visit Frankfurt to experience this warm and authentic celebration — a true symbol of the city’s charm.
